The part-time Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a four-year degree programme in Humanities and Social Sciences. This programme prepares students to progress in the rapidly changing global environment. It is structured to allow you to build your degree pathway to reflect your individual interests and career objectives. It is designed to suit the needs of those working full-time and/or with family commitments.
The delivery methodology varies across subject areas, as outlined in the table below:

Online Learning: all instruction and interaction with lecturers, tutors and fellow students takes place in a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) called Blackboard.
Blended Learning: A blend of online learning and monthly face-to-face workshops (generally held on Saturdays).
Traditional classroom based learning: One evening lecture per week. Course and assignments information is also posted to Blackboard.
An Honours Degree is made up of 180 ECTS (usually completed over 4 years). One module equates with 5 ECTS and is delivered over one semester (generally). The modules are defined in terms of core or elective modules.
Core modules are defined at subject and programme levels. Subject level core modules will depend on the Major or Minor that you choose. Programme level core modules will be completed by all BA students.
You can choose a Major in the following subject areas: Economics, French, History, Training and Education Management and Political Science and Sociology.
You can choose a Minor in the following subject areas: Archaeology, French, History, Economics, English and Drama, Italian, Training and Education Management and Political Science and Sociology.
